The Trilateral Economic Report (TER) is a flagship publication by the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS), outlining the economic landscape and policy implications for China, Japan, and Korea (CJK).
This year’s edition is jointly authored by TCS and AMRO. The report offers an assessment of macroeconomic developments across the three countries in 2025 and the outlook for 2026, with a focus on economic growth, inflation, monetary policy, and evolving trade dynamics. It frames the region’s economic outlook and key risks from both short-term and long-term perspectives. In the short term, the report examines pressing issues such as the boom of artificial intelligence, shifting tariff developments and economic spillovers from the conflicts in the Middle East. Looking further ahead, it explores structural trends shaping the future trajectory of the three economies, including productivity challenges, demographic aging and the green transition.
The report is also available in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
