Dr. Trung Thanh Vu joined the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) in November 2019. He works as an Associate Economist in the Financial Surveillance team, where he focuses mainly on the region’s banking sector and financial markets. Dr. Vu also contributes to AMRO’s flagship publication, the AREO, and supports surveillance work for Japan and Myanmar.
Before joining AMRO, Dr. Vu worked as a Research Assistant at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Japan, and also as a Teaching Assistant at Hitotsubashi University.
Dr. Vu holds a Ph.D. in International Economics from GRIPS and a Master’s in Public Policy from Hitotsubashi University.
