Ms. Poh Lynn Ng joined AMRO in March 2024 as the desk economist for Lao PDR. She also plays a significant role in AMRO’s country surveillance work on Indonesia and Vietnam.
Before joining AMRO, Ms. Ng was an economist with the United Nations’ Department of Economic and Social Affairs in New York. During her eight years at the United Nations, she conducted macroeconomic surveillance and policy research on Asia-Pacific countries. She was also deeply engaged in financing for sustainable development initiatives and played a key role in facilitating several UN resolutions on international financial architecture reform.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Ng served as a senior economist with Bank Negara Malaysia, where she led a team in analyzing the global macroeconomic and financial landscape, and assessing its impact on Malaysia’s economy.
Ms. Ng holds a BSc and an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in the UK. During her studies, she was awarded the prestigious Chevening Scholarship.
