Mr. Chiang Yong (Edmond) Choo joined ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) in August 2014. As a member of the financial surveillance team, Mr. Choo contributes to the publication of AMRO’s latest flagship publication, the ASEAN+3 Financial Stability report. Before that, he has accumulated extensive experience in macroeconomic surveillance work through participation in another AMRO flagship – ASEAN+3 Regional Economic Outlook. Besides region-wide work, he was also involved in country surveillance for Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand covering various topics from fintech to tourism.
Prior to joining AMRO, Mr. Choo worked in the Singapore Economic Development Board where he produced manufacturing-related statistics and analyzed macroeconomic developments. He also worked for the Republic of Singapore Navy, and Procter and Gamble earlier in his career.
Mr. Choo holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from Singapore Management University and a Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Economics and Management from the University of London.
