SINGAPORE, July 10, 2024 – The ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) announced today the appointment of Dr. Abdurohman as Deputy Director for Functional Surveillance and Research for a three-year term, effective July 10, 2024.
The appointment, following a competitive international recruitment process, was made by AMRO Director Kouqing Li, after an assessment by an interview panel comprising six ASEAN+3 members and AMRO Director. The appointment has been endorsed by AMRO’s Executive Committee, the organization’s highest decision-making body, which comprises Deputies of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors of ASEAN+3 members.
The new Deputy Director position for Functional Surveillance and Research is an addition to AMRO’s Senior Management (SM) team to aid the organization in responding swiftly to emerging risks and the rapidly changing macroeconomic environment. The expansion of AMRO’s SM team will strengthen the organization’s governance in delivering its Strategic Direction 2030, while concomitantly supporting its future development.
Prior to joining AMRO, Dr. Abdurohman served as Director of Center for Macroeconomic Policy in the Fiscal Policy Agency of the Indonesia Ministry of Finance. He worked at AMRO as Economist and Fiscal Specialist from 2015-2019.
He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Australian National University; a Master of Science in Economics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA; and a Bachelor in Economics from Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia.
