Deputy Director (Functional Surveillance and Research)

Mr. Abdurohman assumed the position of AMRO Deputy Director on July 10, 2024, responsible for overseeing AMRO’s functional surveillance in financial and fiscal areas, as well as macro-financial research activities.

Prior to joining AMRO, Mr. Abdurohman served as Director of Center for Macroeconomic Policy at the Fiscal Policy Agency of the Indonesia Ministry of Finance (IMOF) where he played an instrumental role in developing key macroeconomic analysis and policies influencing the national economic agenda, and representing the IMOF at global and regional economic discussions.

From 2020-2021, Mr. Abdurohman was Director of Assessment and Policy of Financial Sector Stability at Indonesia’s Secretariat of Financial Sector Stability Committee. He held various positions within the IMOF from 1997-2015, and worked at AMRO as Economist and Fiscal Specialist from 2015-2019.

Mr. Abdurohman’s research has been published in reputable books and journals, such as the Asia-Pacific Journal of Regional Science, Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies, and Singapore Economic Review.

He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Australian National University; a Master of Science in Economics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA; and a Bachelor in Economics from Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia.
