Joining the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) in November 2018, Ms. Khut is currently a country economist for Brunei Darussalam and a first back-up economist for Cambodia surveillance. Ms. Khut also contributes her expertise to the production and publication of AMRO’s annual flagship economic report, the ASEAN+3 Regional Economic Outlook (AREO), and supports AMRO’s relevant researches and surveillance work. Prior to assuming the current position, Ms. Khut joined AMRO as a Secondee (Regional Surveillance) from the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) of Cambodia from January 2017 to October 2018.
Ms. Khut previously worked as an Economist at the General Department of Policy of the MEF from March 2014 to October 2018. Throughout her career at the MEF, she had been involved in monitoring and analyzing Cambodian economy, conducting macroeconomic forecast, producing economic reports, contributing to the preparation of macroeconomic and budget framework, and conducting other related research and analytical tasks.
Ms. Khut obtained a Master’s Degree in Development Policy with two concentrations— Development Track, and Finance and Macroeconomic Policy—from Korea Development Institute School of Public Policy and Management (KDIS), Korea, in 2013. She earned two Bachelor’s degrees, namely in English Education (TEFL) from Royal University of Phnom Penh in 2011, and in Accounting in 2010 from Royal University of Law and Economics, Cambodia.
