Mr. Kittiya Manivong joined AMRO as an Associate in November 2024. He covers macroeconomic surveillance on Lao PDR and Indonesia, with a focus on fiscal sector analysis.
Prior to joining AMRO, Mr. Manivong served in the Fiscal Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance of Lao PDR. His responsibilities included conducting empirical research on fiscal issues, undertaking macroeconomic analysis to support fiscal policy formulation, designing medium-term fiscal framework, and compiling government finance statistics reports.
In 2023, Mr. Manivong was awarded the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative Professional Fellowship, a US Department of State program for emerging public sector leaders in ASEAN. He has published research in academic journals on topics related to financial development and environmental sustainability in Lao PDR.
Mr. Manivong holds a Master’s degree in Economic Analysis from Corvinus University of Budapest under the Hungarian Government Scholarship Program. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Development Economics from the National University of Laos.
