Ms. Ravisara Hataiseree joined AMRO as an economist in September 2022. She conducts surveillance on regional and member countries with a focus on Thailand and Lao PDR. She also takes part in the fiscal surveillance activities of the ASEAN+3 member countries.
Prior to joining AMRO, Ms. Hataiseree worked as a senior tax economist at Thailand’s Ministry of Finance for almost 10 years in the economic and fiscal areas. During her time there, she was seconded to the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office from August 2020 to August 2022, serving as a member of the Economic Advisory Committee to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy. Before that she worked with the country’s Office of the National and Social Development Council and the Export-Import Bank of Thailand. In 2015, Ms. Hataiseree had a brief stint at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. She was also a visiting lecturer at two universities and a speaker at various fora.
Ms. Hataiseree holds a master’s degree in Economic and Financial Policy (with merit) from Cornell University in the U.S. and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Thammasat University. She also has a law degree from Sukhothai University in Thailand. During her graduate studies, she was awarded a scholarship from the Royal Thai Government.
