Mr. Koon Hui Tee joined AMRO in 2024 and currently serves as Senior Economist in the Fiscal Surveillance Group, covering Japan and Singapore. He also conducts regional research and surveillance on fiscal policy issues.
Prior to joining AMRO, Mr. Tee was an economist in the Fiscal Affairs Department and African Department at the International Monetary Fund. During his tenure, he contributed to fiscal policy research and surveillance and served as the macro-fiscal economist for Guinea-Bissau under the Extended Credit Facility program.
Mr. Tee started his career in the Singapore Tourism Board before joining the Singapore Government Economist Service (ES) as an economist. He was in the ES for more than 12 years and has worked in various ministries in Singapore, including the Ministry of Manpower, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Ministry of National Development. He has also worked at the OECD Development Centre based in Paris.
Mr. Tee holds a Master’s degree in Social Sciences (Applied Economics) from the National University of Singapore, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Hons) from Macquarie University, Sydney.
