Ms. Xiaotian (Tina) Liu joined AMRO in January 2026 as a secondee from the Export-Import Bank of China. She is an Associate Economist in the country surveillance teams for Cambodia and the Philippines. Her work focuses on external sector developments, structural issues, and policy-oriented research.
At the Export-Import Bank of China, she specialized in corporate investment and financing, credit risk assessment, industry analysis, and cross-border project appraisal. She reviewed overseas investment and international trade projects across sectors including renewable energy, manufacturing, natural resources, and trade-related industries, with a focus on China–ASEAN cooperation and cross-border financing.
Her professional interests include macroeconomic and financial surveillance, project finance, credit risk analysis, cross-border investment, and policy-oriented economic research.
Ms. Liu holds a Master’s in Finance from the University of Strathclyde and Bachelor’s in Finance from the University of Strathclyde and Harbin Engineering University through a dual-degree program. She has passed all three levels of the CFA Program and holds China’s National Intermediate Economic Professional Qualification.
