Mr. Jungsung Kim joined AMRO in July 2023. He is currently the desk economist for Hong Kong, China and co-desk economist for China. He previously served as a backup economist for Japan and Cambodia.
Prior to joining AMRO, Mr. Kim spent more than 20 years at the Bank of Korea, where he held various positions in economic research, macroeconomic forecasting, and policy analysis. His work covered a broad range of areas, including macroeconomic forecasting, labor market developments, asset markets, foreign exchange market analysis, and financial stability issues.
He previously served as Head Economist in the Research Department of the Bank of Korea and as Economic Policy Secretary in the Office of the President of Korea, where he contributed to the development of monetary, macroeconomic, and national economic policies.
His research interests include growth and structural transformation, sustainable development, real estate markets, and inflation dynamics.
Mr. Kim holds a Master of Arts in Applied Economics from Duke University, United States.
