9th Joint Regional Financing Arrangements (RFAs) Research Seminar

Climate Change and Its Impact on Macroeconomic and Financial Stability

The 9th Regional Financing Arrangements (RFAs) Joint Research Seminar will take place on May 16, 2025, in Medellín, Colombia, with the option for virtual participation. This event will bring together leading academics, policymakers, and financial experts to discuss the impact of climate change on macroeconomic stability, financial systems, and sovereign risk.

The seminar will cover key topics, including:

  • The relationship between climate change and economic growth
  • Financial system vulnerabilities to climate-related risks
  • Sovereign credit risk and public finances in the context of climate challenges

A high-level roundtable will also be held, focusing on adaptation strategies, policy responses, and global cooperation to address climate change.

This seminar, initiated in 2017 by AMRO, the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), and the Latin American Reserve Fund (FLAR), provides a unique opportunity to engage with experts and gain insights into the evolving intersection of climate and macro-financial stability.

We look forward to your participation.
