Dr. Changwen Zhao is President of the National Academy of Development and Chair Professor at Lingnan College, Sun Yat-sen University. A distinguished economist and academic leader, he has held several senior positions in China’s governmental and institutional settings, including President of the Center for International Knowledge on Development, Director-General of the Department of Industrial Economy, and Director-General of the Enterprises Research Institute at the Development Research Center of the State Council of China. Previously, he served as Vice President of Sichuan University.
Dr. Zhao’s research focuses on macroeconomics, industrial policy, and financial development. He has authored several influential publications such as Sci-tech Finance, China’s Economic Growth Strategy in the New Normal, and Financial Reform in China. His work bridges theory and policy, offering insights into China’s evolving economic landscape.
He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, a Master’s in Economics from Southwestern University, and a Joint Master’s in Global Public Policy from the University of Southern California and the University of Hong Kong.
