Mr. Somphone Changdabout is an Associate at the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) since June 2022. He is responsible for Lao PDR and Malaysia surveillance and supports AMRO’s surveillance team on Lao PDR, particularly on the fiscal policy sector.

Prior to joining AMRO, Mr. Somphone worked for Lao’s Ministry of Finance as the Deputy Director of Division at the Fiscal Policy Department where he was mainly involved in fiscal forecasting as well as monitoring and evaluating budget implementation.

Mr. Somphone holds a master’s degree in Public Finance from the National University of Laos and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from National University of Laos
