Mr. Masato Matsutani joined AMRO’ CMIM Support team in August 2023. He is responsible for the overall strategy of CMIM Enhancement, including periodic review of the CMIM Agreement. Prior to joining CMM support team, Mr. Matsutani served in AMRO’s Technical Assistance team starting in August 2023.

Before joining AMRO, Mr. Matsutani served in various positions for Japan’s Ministry of Finance from April 2002 to July 2021, including the International Bureau where he worked on multilateral financial cooperation such as the G7, the G20 and the ASEAN+3 Finance process. He also contributed to policymaking primarily for low-income countries for international organizations, such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and multilateral development banks.

From 2013 to 2017, Mr. Matsutani served as an Advisor to the Executive Director of Japan and worked as a senior officer both at the IMF in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Matsutani holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, United Kingdom.
