Mr. Masato Matsutani joined AMRO’s CMIM Support team in August 2023. He is responsible for the overall strategy of CMIM enhancement, including periodic review of the CMIM Agreement. Prior to joining the CMIM Support team, Mr. Matsutani served in AMRO’s Technical Assistance team for two years.
Before joining AMRO, Mr. Matsutani held various positions at Japan’s Ministry of Finance (JMOF) from April 2002 to July 2021, including the International Bureau where he specialized in multilateral financial cooperation, working closely with groupings such as the G7, the G20 and the ASEAN+3 Finance process. He also contributed to policymaking pertaining to low-income countries at international organizations, such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other multilateral development banks.
From 2013 to 2017, Mr. Matsutani worked at the IMF in Washington D.C., including serving as an Advisor to the Executive Director of Japan.
Mr. Matsutani holds a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
