Mr. Haobin Wang is a Senior Economist at AMRO. He serves as a member of the Regional Surveillance Team and Desk Economist for Thailand.
Prior to joining AMRO, Mr. Wang was an Economist at the Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China, where he worked on macro-fiscal forecasting, financial regulation, sovereign bond issuance, and financial stability issues. Before that, he spent nearly four years at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) through the Economist Program, with assignments in the Strategy, Policy, and Review Department, the Western Hemisphere Department, and the Monetary and Capital Markets Department. His country work included Somalia, Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda, and Georgia.
His research interests include macroeconomics, monetary policy, international finance, and financial stability.
Mr. Wang holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University and a Bachelor’s in Mathematics and Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
