Mr. Haobin Wang joined AMRO as an Economist in late 2023. He is a member of AMRO’s Regional surveillance team and a country economist for Thailand.

Prior to that, he worked at the Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China (CMOF) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He was responsible for work related to the Financial Stability Board and fiscal-financial policy research during his time at the CMOF. At the IMF, he served as a country economist for several Middle Eastern and Central American economies. He has authored academic and policy papers on topics including monetary policy, capital flows, and international trade.

Mr. Wang holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
