Mr. Choon Sung Lim joined AMRO as a Senior Economist in April 2026. He serves as the desk economist for the Philippines and the back-up economist for Cambodia.
Prior to joining AMRO, he worked at the Bank of Korea (BOK) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). At the BOK, he spent over 20 years, primarily in the Research Department, where he conducted in-depth analysis of domestic and global economic developments, prepared policy recommendations, and produced GDP growth and inflation forecasts. At the IMF, he seved as a Senior Economist for three years, contributing to Article IV consultations and leading analytical work on debt sustainability, climate change, financial digitalization, and structural policies, with country responsibilities for Indonesia, Micronesia, and Tonga.
Mr. Lim holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Boston College, USA.
