Mr. Beomhee Han has been serving as Group Head of the CMIM Support Team for AMRO since October 1, 2016. He provides support for the ASEAN+3 members in stepping up the CMIM as an effective and reliable regional financial safety net. His work has centred on enhancing operational readiness of CMIM, including conducting peacetime checklist exercises and test runs and further revising the Operational Guidelines of CMIM.
Before taking up the current position, he had worked as AMRO’s Senior Legal Advisor since 2012, responsible for drafting the AMRO Agreement and other legal documents for members’ discussions. This was essential for AMRO, which was a company under Singapore law, to become an international organisation. Before joining AMRO, he worked for the Bank of Korea from 1999 to 2012.
Mr. Han studied law at the University of Bristol, United Kingdom from 2007 to 2009. His main interest was directed towards EU law and how financial regulations and supervision has evolved in the course of the ‘big bang’ in the UK since 1980s. In the 1990s, he also studied law at Yonsei University, South Korea.
