SINGAPORE, October 27, 2021 – Mr. Toshinori Doi, Director of the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) has been invited to join the 24th ASEAN+3 Leaders’ Summit as an observer. This year’s summit is hosted by Brunei Darussalam as the ASEAN Chair, on the sidelines of 38th and 39th ASEAN Summits from October 26-28, 2021.
“AMRO’s attendance at this preeminent meeting for the ASEAN+3 region reiterates our important role as a trusted policy advisor for the region, especially in this challenging time, amid the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Doi.
“We look forward to participating in the summit, as part of our work safeguarding the region’s economic and financial stability,” adds Doi.
AMRO is joining the ASEAN+3 Leaders’ Summit for the first time. In fulfilling AMRO’s mandate, the international organization has worked closely with the finance ministries and central banks of the 14 ASEAN+3 economies to monitor economic and financial developments in the region, and provide timely risk assessment and policy advice.
