Mr. Jin Myung Kim is an economic policy expert with more than three decades of distinguished service in the Korean government. From 2001 to 2025, he held several key positions at the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF), where he played a pivotal role in shaping Korea’s macroeconomic, microeconomic, international economic affairs, and financial policies.
Most recently, Dr. Kim served as Deputy Minister for Planning and Coordination. His previous positions include Director General for International Economic Affairs, Director General for Policy Coordination, and Policy Advisor to the Minister. Between 2018 and 2021, he served as the Minister for Economic Affairs at the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Korea to the OECD, where he spearheaded multilateral cooperation on global economic issues.
Mr. Kim is currently a Visiting Researcher at the Korea Institute of Public Administration (KIPA) and Seoul National University.
He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Missouri, a Master of Public Policy from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management, and a B.A. in Economics from Seoul National University.
