The 4th AMRO-IMF Joint Seminar will be held on March 1, 2017 in Manila, the Philippines. The half-day event will comprise two sessions. The first one, which will be chaired by AMRO Chief Economist Dr. Khor Hoe Ee, will focus on the ASEAN+3 region 20 years after the Asian Financial Crisis, with a broad review of trends and the resilience in our region, and the challenges going forward. In the second session led by Mr. Chikahisa Sumi, Director of the Office of Asia and Pacific at the IMF, participants will discuss macrofinancial challenges in ASEAN-5 economies.

Participants include representatives from ASEAN+3 member authorities, the private sector, and other international financial institutions. Mr. Diwa C. Guinigundo, Deputy Governor of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will deliver the keynote speech.

As an annual event, this seminar provides an important platform for AMRO to consult with various stakeholders on its studies, discuss regional macroeconomic and financial issues, and strengthen the collaboration with the IMF.
