Appointed by the Executive Committee of ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO), Dr Yoichi Nemoto took office as AMRO Director for a two-year term starting today. AMRO Director is the chief of AMRO’s staff. Prior to his appointment at AMRO, Dr Nemoto, 53, a national of Japan, was Deputy Vice-Minister of Finance at the Ministry of Finance in Japan. Between 2002 and 2004, Dr Nemoto was Visiting Fellow at Princeton University’s Centre of International Studies. Dr Nemoto graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of Tokyo and holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from Harvard University
