Ke JI joined the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) in December 2022 as a secondee from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA). He is an economist in the country surveillance team at AMRO covering China, the Philippines, and Singapore.

Prior to AMRO, he was an economist at HKMA where he worked in research, financial stability surveillance, and external departments. He covered macroeconomic surveillance on China and regional economies, conducted research on conjunctural financial stability issues, and supported HKMA’s participation in international forums. He was involved in BIS cross central bank research projects including US dollar funding and private sector debt, which are published as BIS Committee on the Global Financial System (CGFS) reports. He also contributed to HKMA’s internal analytical notes on conjunctural macro-financial issues.

He holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Tokyo in Japan, and Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Economics from the Southwestern University of Economics and Finance in China.
