Ms. Hu Xue joined the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) in October 2019. She is responsible for strategy and planning, organizational performance evaluation and results-based management, and providing support to the ASEAN+3 members in enhancing regional financial cooperation.
Before joining AMRO, Ms. Hu worked for the Ministry of Finance, China from August 2006 to October 2019 as Acting Director, Deputy Director, and Section Chief in the International Economic Relations Department and the International Department. Her main responsibilities encompassed bilateral and multilateral financial cooperation, including the G20, the APEC, the ASEAN+3 Finance Process, and the Belt and Road Financing Cooperation, as well as strategic research on international and regional macroeconomic and financial issues.
She also served as the Alternate Board Director at the Credit Guarantee and Investment Facility and the Advisor to the Executive Director at the Asian Development Bank.
Ms. Hu holds a Master of Science in Finance with Distinction from London Business School, and obtained both her Master of Laws in International Relations and Bachelor of Economics from China Foreign Affairs University.
