Mr Yoon Kyung Kim, Deputy Director-General, International Finance Bureau, Ministry of Strategy and Finance of the Republic of Korea and Dr Chang Junhong, Director of AMRO, signed the contribution agreement of USD 100,000 on establishing the Republic of KoreaAMRO Technical Assistance Trust Fund (“the Fund”) in Sejong City, on 12 July 2016
Mr Shi Yaobin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Finance, the People’s Republic of China and Dr Chang Junhong, Director of AMRO, signed the contribution agreement of USD 3 million on establishing the People’s Republic of China Technical Assistance Trust Fund (“the Fund”) at AMRO in Beijing, on 29 June 2016.
The meeting had an interactive discussion on the draft AMRO Regional Economic Monitoring (AREM) Report for the month of June, as well as the draft Thematic Study, “Uncertainties in Output Gap Estimation and Implications on Policy Discussion”.
Dr Junhong Chang, Director of the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO), and Dr Hoe Ee Khor, Chief Economist of AMRO, paid a courtesy call on Mrs Ching Yee Tan, Permanent Secretary of the Singapore Ministry of Finance, and Mr Ravi Menon, Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, on 1 June 2016 and 30 May 2016 respectively.
Recalling the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralisation (hereinafter referred to as “CMIM”) to establish a multilateral liquidity support arrangement under the ASEAN+3 framework to address balance-of- payments and short-term liquidity difficulties in the region;
AMRO Executive Committee, which comprises of the Deputies of ASEAN +3 Finance Ministries and Central Banks, endorsed the appointment of Mr Huntae Lee as AMRO Deputy Director 1 (Administration) and Mr Yasuto Watanabe as AMRO Deputy Director 2 (CMIM, Strategy & Coordination) by the AMRO Director.
