Mr Shi Yaobin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Finance, the People’s Republic of China and Dr Chang Junhong, Director of AMRO, signed the contribution agreement of USD 3 million on establishing the People’s Republic of China Technical Assistance Trust Fund (“the Fund”) at AMRO in Beijing, on 29 June 2016.
The meeting had an interactive discussion on the draft AMRO Regional Economic Monitoring (AREM) Report for the month of June, as well as the draft Thematic Study, “Uncertainties in Output Gap Estimation and Implications on Policy Discussion”.
The meeting was also attended by Finance Ministers and representatives from 43 ASEM member countries, the Vice-President of the European Commission, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank (WB), European Central Bank (ECB), the Single Resolution Board (SRB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (UNESCAP).
AMRO Executive Committee, which comprises of the Deputies of ASEAN +3 Finance Ministries and Central Banks, endorsed the appointment of Mr Huntae Lee as AMRO Deputy Director 1 (Administration) and Mr Yasuto Watanabe as AMRO Deputy Director 2 (CMIM, Strategy & Coordination) by the AMRO Director.

Somdy Douangdy, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Lao PDR, and H.E. Lou Jiwei, Minister of Finance of China.
