The ASEAN+3 region is expected to grow at 5.2 percent in 2017 with inflation under control, despite the global uncertainty, says a new report released today by the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO).
The ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) today releases its ASEAN+3 Regional Economic Outlook (AREO) 2017, an annual flagship report on regional surveillance.
The economic outlook for the ASEAN+3 region has improved with a recovery in global trade and investment. GDP growth is projected at 5.2 percent in 2017 with inflation under control despite the global uncertainty.
The ASEAN+3 Regional Economic Outlook (AREO) provides a comprehensive assessment of recent developments and the outlook for the regional economy and its linkages with the global economy, as well as inter-linkages in the financial markets.
The ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) today signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions in support of members in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the People’s Republic of China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea.
Today, the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) releases its Annual Report 2016, which captures key developments and achievements of the organization in the year 2016.
The ASEAN+3 region has remained resilient going into 2017. At the same time, the region and the world faces significant global policy uncertainty due to the threat of rising trade protectionism and tightening global monetary conditions.
On April 5 and 6, AMRO Director Dr Junhong Chang, joined by Deputy Director Mr. Yasuto Watanabe and Chief Economist Dr Hoe Ee Khor, attended the AMRO Executive Committee (EC) meeting to present AMRO’s policy and organizational issues to the EC, the highest decision making body of AMRO composed of finance and central bank deputies from ASEAN+3 members.
