Mr. Dong-Ick Kim assumed the position of AMRO Deputy Director on September 27, 2022. He is responsible for Administration—including Budget, Human Resource Management, Support Services and Legal Affairs—and Technical Assistance (TA) operations.
Mr. Kim has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of macroeconomic policy, international finance and cooperation, and planning and administration since he began his career as a government official in Korea in 2000. Prior to joining AMRO, he served in the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Korea (KMOEF) as Director of the International Finance Division. He also held various key positions in KMOEF, including Director of the Foreign Exchange Market Division, International Financial Cooperation Division and Social Policy Division.
Mr. Kim worked as Assistant Secretary for Economic and Financial Affairs to the President of Korea, and Planning and Policy Specialist at the Asian Development Bank in 2015 and 2011, respectively.
He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Seoul National University, Korea; and a Master’s Degree in Economics from University of Hawaii at Manoa, U.S.
