Mr. Kunil Hwang was the Executive Director of the World Bank Group, representing Asia and the Pacific Islands, from 2018-2020. From 1988 to 2018, Mr. Hwang held numerous positions at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance (MOSF) of Korea, ranging from Deputy Minister for International Affairs to Director General of the International Financial Policy Bureau. He also served as Director General for Economic Affairs at the Presidential Office of Korea (The Blue House) from 2008 to 2010.

Mr. Hwang holds an M.A in Economics from the University of Oregon in the USA, an M.A in Economic Policymaking from the Seoul National University in Korea and a B.A. in Economics from Yonsei University.
