AMRO Annual Report 2020 – Stronger Together
AMRO’s mission is to contribute to the macroeconomic and financial stability of the ASEAN+3 region. We do so through providing macroeconomic surveillance, supporting the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralisation (CMIM), and fostering regional capacity development.
The 2020 Annual Report emphasizes how AMRO navigated the disruptions posed by the pandemic to achieve our objectives. In light of global macroeconomic volatility, AMRO enhanced our policy analysis and further developed our analytical toolkits for monitoring financial stability. AMRO supported our members in revising the CMIM Agreement which was upgraded to reflect an increase of the IMF de-linked portion from 30% to 40%, and the option to use local currencies as part of the financing. AMRO’s Technical Assistance program is tailored to the needs and economic profiles of members. Despite the pandemic, AMRO hosted 15 secondees under our secondment programs.
In the year of strict travel restrictions, AMRO actively engaged with our key stakeholder groups, including member authorities, peer international organizations, and members of the media, by leveraging the power of digital technology. In enhancing our organizational effectiveness, AMRO initiated an Integrated Evaluation Cycle to foster synchronization and strengthen linkages between our Performance Evaluation Framework, budget, work program, and staff evaluation processes.
