The ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) is seeking a Group Head to lead the Strategy and Coordination Group.
The successful candidate will lead AMRO’s organizational strategy and planning through effective coordination across different groups within AMRO. S/He will also be responsible for leading and promoting stakeholder and partnership relations, including ASEAN+3 member authorities, Advisory Panel members, other International Organizations (IOs) and various partners, as well as supervising AMRO’s communications function.
S/he will report to the AMRO Deputy Director (CMIM, Strategy and Coordination).
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage both the Strategy/Coordination team and the Communications team.
- Spearhead the development and implementation of AMRO’s organizational strategies, policies, and medium-term and/or annual work programs, ensuring a coherent organizational roadmap and alignment across all functions.
- Lead AMRO’s secretariat support to the ASEAN+3 Finance Process and AMRO’s participation in the AMRO Working Committee meetings, and other ASEAN+3 related meetings.
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of AMRO’s organizational performance evaluation framework to foster a results-oriented institution.
- Coordinate office-wide meetings and activities, including agenda setting, minute-taking, and schedule management.
- Serve as a focal point for coordinate with ASEAN+3 member authorities, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
- Lead the implementation of AMRO’s ASEAN+3 Finance Think-tank Network (AFTN) initiative.
- Lead the organization of AMRO’s Advisory Panel meetings.
- Lead partnership management and collaboration efforts with various partners, and spearhead the organization of AMRO’s external events, ensuring effective planning and execution
- Oversee AMRO’s communications strategies and activities to enhance AMRO’s visibility.
- Oversee the production of AMRO’s annual report.
- Undertake any other tasks required by the supervisor or Senior Management.
Institutional Responsibilities:
- Participate in any institution-wide activities, such as AMRO’s internal committees or task forces, as assigned.
- Facilitate training/seminars/workshops to disseminate knowledge to AMRO staff and external stakeholders.
- Perform any other duties as may be reasonably required in furtherance of AMRO’s overall goals.
The candidate should possess:
- An advanced degree in Public Policy , International Relations, Economics, Finance or other related fields from a reputable university.
- At least 10 years of working experience in roles focused on strategic planning, coordination and stakeholder engagement; experience in international financial institutions (IFIs), IOs, and/or public sector is highly desirable.
- Excellent conceptual and analytical abilities for strategic framework development, policy analysis, and effective implementation planning and execution.
- Exceptional coordination and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage projects and initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge of and experience in the policy landscape of international and regional financial cooperation. Experience within ASEAN+3 financial cooperation initiatives is a significant advantage.
- Strong leadership and hands-on management skills with a proven ability to lead and manage a multicultural and diverse team in an international environment.
- Solid knowledge and expertise in strategic communication and public relations would be advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff and officials of diverse cultural backgrounds across all levels.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- High proficiency in both written and spoken English.
