CHIANG RAI, THAILAND, April 2, 2019 – The Executive Committee (EC) of the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) has appointed Mr Toshinori Doi as the fourth Director of AMRO (the third director since AMRO was transformed into an international organization in February 2016). The EC, the highest decision-making body of AMRO, comprises Deputies of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors of ASEAN+3 members.

Mr Doi’s appointment was made based on the nomination by the Interview Panel comprising six EC members through an international competitive recruitment procedure. Mr Doi will succeed Dr Junhong Chang, whose term will end on May 26, 2019.

Mr Doi currently serves as Special Advisor to the Ministry of Finance of Japan. He will assume a three-year term as the next AMRO Director starting on May 27, 2019. According to AMRO’s governance structure, Director serves as the chief of staff of AMRO.
