Joining the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) in November 2018, Ms. Khut currently serves as Country Economist for Vietnam and Back-Up Economist for Brunei Darussalam. She previously covered Brunei Darussalam as Country Economist (March–September 2021; February 2022–July 2025) and also supported the surveillance of Hong Kong, China (2023–2025), Cambodia (2017–2023), and Indonesia (2018).
From 2017 to 2023, she was a member of AMRO’s Regional Surveillance Team, contributing to the production and publication of the ASEAN+3 Regional Economic Outlook (AREO), the organization’s flagship report. She first joined AMRO in January 2017 as an Associate (Regional Surveillance), seconded from Cambodia’s Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), before becoming an Associate Economist in November 2018 and serving in that role until March 2022.
Prior to AMRO, she worked as an Economist at the MEF’s General Department of Policy (March 2014–October 2018), where she was responsible for monitoring and analyzing the Cambodian economy, producing economic reports, preparing macroeconomic forecasts, contributing to macroeconomic and budget frameworks, and undertaking related research and analytical work.
Ms. Khut holds a Master’s Degree in Development Policy, with concentrations in Development Track and Finance and Macroeconomic Policy, from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management, Korea (2013), where she was awarded the Global Ambassador Scholarship. She also earned two Bachelor’s Degrees: in English Education (TEFL) from the Institute of Foreign Languages, Royal University of Phnom Penh (2011), and in Accounting from the Royal University of Law and Economics, Cambodia (2010).
