Vanne Khut

Economist

Ms. Vanne Khut currently serves as Country Economist for Vietnam and Back-Up Economist for Brunei Darussalam at the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO). She previously covered Brunei Darussalam as Country Economist (March–September 2021; February 2022–July 2025) and also supported the surveillance of Hong Kong, China (2023–2025), Cambodia (2017–2023), and Indonesia (2018).

From 2017 to 2023, she also served as a member of AMRO’s Regional Surveillance Team, contributing to the production and publication of the ASEAN+3 Regional Economic Outlook (AREO), the organization’s flagship report. She joined AMRO in January 2017 as an Associate (Regional Surveillance), seconded from Cambodia’s Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF). She became an Associate Economist in November 2018 and served in that role until March 2022.

Prior to joining AMRO, she worked as an Economist at the General Department of Policy of the MEF (2014–2018), where she monitored and analyzed macroeconomic developments in Cambodia, prepared economic reports and macroeconomic forecasts, contributed to the macroeconomic and fiscal framework, and conducted related research.

Ms. Khut holds a Master’s Degree in Development Policy, with concentrations in Development Track and Finance and Macroeconomic Policy, from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management, Korea, where she was awarded the Global Ambassador Scholarship.
