The escalation of conflict in the Middle East since late February 2026 has heightened risks to global energy supply chains, with the disruption to the Strait of Hormuz threatening the flow of crude oil, natural gas, and key commodities to major importing economies.

ASEAN+3 economies source over a third of its total energy imports from the Middle East. Prolonged disruptions could affect energy security, strain supply chains, and add inflationary pressure across the region.

This dashboard, developed by AMRO, provides a structured overview of ASEAN+3’s energy import exposure: by source region, product type, and individual economy. It also covers commodities with critical links to Middle East supply chains, including fertilizers, helium, and sulfur. By selecting different energy products and comparing regional and economy-level charts, areas of greater exposure can be identified and the potential impact of supply shocks on the region can be better assessed.
