SINGAPORE, June 30, 2017 – AMRO Advisory Panel (AP) members convene today to review and discuss AMRO’s surveillance work on the regional economy and its analytical study, which address timely issues for the region.

Specifically, AMRO presents recent developments and medium-term challenges of the ASEAN+3 regional economy within the course of six months. AMRO also benefits from a fruitful discussion on four country surveillance reports prepared on the basis of its annual consultation visits to Myanmar, Lao PDR, Indonesia, and Thailand in the first half of 2017, among which, the report on Myanmar was recently published on AMRO website. AMRO also consults with AP on a thematic paper on corporate debt in China.

The meeting, chaired by Dr Akira Ariyoshi (AP Chair), is attended by Dr. Bandid Nijathaworn, Dr Maria Socorro Gochoco-Bautista, Professor Kyung-Wook Hur, Dr Mohamad Ikhsan, and Dr Feng Lu. AMRO Director Dr Junhong Chang, Chief Economist Dr Hoe Ee Khor, and Deputy Director Mr Yasuto Watanabe also attend in the meeting.
