Dr. Halim Alamsyah is currently Advisor to Minister of Finance of The Republic of Indonesia for Finance and Islamic Finance.
He has served in many roles and functions in the formulation and recommendations of financial, monetary, banking and bank-resolution policies.
Previously, he was Chairman of Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (Oct 2015 – Oct 2020), Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Indonesia (Jun 2010 – Jun 2015), and Commissioner of Indonesia Financial Supervisory Authority (OJK) representing the Central Bank (ex-officio) (Jul 2012 – Jul 2015).
He was also actively involved in many international negotiations and fora and became a member in many international working groups such as ASEAN, EMEAP, BIS, FSB, IFSB, IADI and G-20.
Dr. Halim holds bachelor’s degrees in Management from Indonesia Islamic University (UII) Yogyakarta, Indonesia and in Agrarian Law from University of Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta, Indonesia; a master’s degree in Development Economics from Boston University, USA; and a PhD from University of Indonesia.
