Chantavarn Sucharitakul

AP Chair | AMRO Advisory Panel Member from 2023 to 2027

Mrs. Chantavarn Sucharitakul retired from the Bank of Thailand (BOT) as Assistant Governor Corporate Relations Group in 2022. She was a career central banker for almost 36 years and assumed several roles in domestic and international circles. Since joining the Bank of Thailand in 1986 she has taken on various positions, including Senior Director of the Bank of Thailand Northern Region Office in Chiang Mai, Senior Director of Financial Institutions Monitoring and Analysis Department (off site supervision) and Senior Director, International Department.

From 2006 to 2008, she was appointed as Alternate Executive Director (AED) for the South East Asia Voting Group at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington DC where she represented the ASEAN Constituency at the IMF.

From 2022 to 2024, she joined the Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand as Special Advisor, working on promoting a financial ecosystem to foster innovation and sustainable investments in the special economic zone.

In 2023 she was appointed as an Advisory Panel member of the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO). Her term as Advisory Panel member will end in 2027.

In 2025, she was appointed Advisor to the Senate Sub-Committee on Capital Market and Insurance Business under the Thai Senate Economics Committee.

Mrs. Chantavarn holds a Master’s degree in Economics of Development from the Australian National University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce and Administration from the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. She has also completed the Advance Management Program at the Harvard Business School in; a joint program by the MIT Sloan School and the College of Management Mahidol University; a National Defense Course at the National Defense College of Thailand, and the Directors Certificate Program conducted by the Thai Institute of Directors (IOD).
